Come what may

I'm suspending the blog for a while -- though all of the authors has much more to say, each of us is going to look for his and her own way to say it, maybe here, likely elsewhere.

I began this after moving back to San Francisco from Egypt. Now I'm down in SoCal, dammit, doing my PhD at UCLA. There were certain things I felt must be said about Egypt in particular -- then there was the revolution. "Called that," I thought. "But never imagined it might actually happen." In 2007/8 Camus and I had lived in Oman and travelled throughout the Middle East and Afghanistan. When we returned to the US, we felt intense frustration at the intellectual intransigence, cultural misunderstanding, and political errors which had persisted since we'd left in August 2007. We were determined that, this time, we were going to make sure people knew what was actually going on.

So we thank all of you who visited and the many who regularly read the blog from all over the world.

Take it easy and inform yourselves!
